Reading summary
The School Wall is Edustra's school communication feature for publishing announcements, photos, videos, polls and events to selected classes or students. The team organizes the posts and tracks, student by student, who read each announcement.
Built for principals, coordinators and the school office, and for teachers within the classes each one can reach. It is part of the Edustra platform, together with the school-branded app and student area.
Sent, scheduled and draft posts sit in a single list, with filters by type, status and class.
Each post goes to all students, to classes or to specific students, within the permissions of whoever publishes it.
For each announcement, the team sees who read it, who has not, and how many confirmed reading when it was requested.
Follow the 12th grade parents meeting from the school's editor to the reading summary. The screens are reconstructions with illustrative data; nothing is sent from this page.
In the editor, the coordinator writes the announcement, selects the class, decides whether to request read confirmation and chooses how to notify: push, email or both. It can be sent now, scheduled or saved as a draft.

Use the tabs to filter the sample list.
Read means the student opened the announcement. Confirm reading is an extra action, available on announcements where the school requested it. A confirmation also counts as read.
The summary divides the students who read it by the total recipients. An announcement at 80% reading can have fewer explicit confirmations, like the 18 in this example.
The Resend to unread button sends a reminder through the same channel only to students who have not opened the announcement. Students who read it without confirming are not included.
A confirmation made through the email link is recorded on that student's tracking. The record does not identify which guardian clicked.
Each post type has the fields the situation needs. The examples use the same demo school.
Title, message, optional attachment and the option to request read confirmation. It is the only type with read confirmation.
Up to 10 photos or videos per post, with a caption. Students see the gallery on the wall and can like it.
A question with single or multiple choice and, if the school wants, an automatic closing date. Students vote in their logged-in area and see the results after voting.
The event goes into the platform's internal calendar and can let students confirm presence. There is no sync with Google Calendar or Outlook.

Wall posts reach people in three ways, each with a condition. Worth knowing before planning the school's announcement routine.
Every post appears on the student's wall, in the school app or the browser. Access uses the student's login.
Always included in every post.
On announcements sent by email, guardian addresses registered on the student receive a copy, with the link to confirm reading when it was requested.
When the school chooses email or both and the student has an email address and registered guardians. Events do not send this copy.
A phone notification takes the student straight to the post.
When the school app is published in the stores and the device allows notifications.
Small controls that matter to whoever publishes every day.
Start a post, save it and finish later. Drafts stay in the same list, marked by status.
Pick a future date and time in the school's time zone. Until it goes out, you can edit it, send it now or cancel the schedule.
All students, by class or specific students. Teachers publish to the classes they can reach.
Find posts by title, type, status and class.
See how the post looks on the wall, in the push notification and in the email before publishing.
The student area and the app use the name, logo and colors the school configured.
This comparison is about institutional communication, where the school needs to know whether a notice was read. Everyday conversation still has its place.
| Criterion | School Wall | Messaging group |
|---|---|---|
| Who speaks for the school | Posts come from the school's account on the platform, with the brand the school configured. | The notice comes from the number or account of whoever runs the group. |
| Who receives it | The school picks all students, classes or specific students on each post. | Whoever is in the group; the school has to create and maintain the member list. |
| Knowing who read it | A per-student reading summary on each announcement, with the unread list and a resend to them. | Depends on each member's read receipts, which the school does not control. |
| Type of content | Announcement, photo or video, poll and event, published now or scheduled. | Free-form messages, at the pace of a conversation. |
| Informal conversation | The wall is not a chat: students read, confirm reading, vote, like and confirm presence. | That is the group's strength: quick conversation between members. |

Reading records that the student opened the announcement. Confirmation is an extra action the school can request on announcements: the student taps Confirm reading or uses the email link. The summary percentage is about reading, and confirmations appear as a separate count.
When an announcement is sent by email, guardian addresses registered on the student receive a copy, as long as the student has an email address on file. Guardians do not have their own wall account. If they confirm through the email link, the confirmation is recorded for that student, without identifying which guardian clicked.
Not necessarily. Students open the wall in the school app or the browser, always with their own login. Push notifications require the app to be published in the stores and notifications enabled on the device.
Yes. Pick a future date and time in the school's time zone. Until it goes out, a scheduled post can be edited, sent right away or turned back into a draft.
In the reading summary of a sent announcement, the Resend to unread button sends a reminder, through the same channel, only to students who have not opened it. Students who already read it do not get it again.
